Hi, my name is Capt. Rick Millette and I own and operate Erie Quest Charters on Lake Erie. I have had my USCG Captain's License since 1984, but more importantly I love to fish for Walleye and Smallmouth Bass. Ever since my grandfather taught me in the early 1960's.

I offer Lake Erie walleye fishing charters for all occasions and we are family friendly. Whether you're a novice fisherman or seasoned angler, we aim to meet your needs.

We pursue Lake Erie walleye out of Meinke Marina West, which is 10 minutes east ot Toledo, April - July. That's because this marina offers close access to the spring Walleye bite in the Maumee Bay and as the water warms, an excellent departure point to deeper waters near the Toledo Shipping Channel & West Sister Island area. It's the closest marina to West Sister Island - at 9 miles, compared to 20 miles on the water from Port Clinton. A lot less time riding in the boat to get to the fishing grounds.

August thru October, I operate out of Winke's Landing on Catawba Island. This is our departure point as we head to the distant Canadian waters surrounding Pelee Island. Lake Erie walleye abound and world class Smallmouth Bass are plentiful in these remote, pristene waters.

Erie Quest Charters operates a 30' Great Lakes Coastal Fisherman and this vessel offers a very stable ride, even in bumpy water. The boat has a private, enclosed head, and a stand up - roomy cabin.

Don't hesitate to ask about lodging, as Erie Quest offers a variety of options to fit different budgets and our Lake Erie walleye fishing guests.

Hi Capt. Rick,

Your boat sounds great! I'm curious, how do you market your April Special? And when does business really start to pick up for you?

Roger

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the inquiry. Currently, I market my April "special - 10% Off Normal price through "sponsored" ads on Google and Yahoo, as well as on my website. The sponsored ads are pay-per-click advertising. So far it has yielded 4 bookings.

I offer the special in April, because the "Limit" of Walleye in April is 4 per/person on Lake Erie. Beginning, May 1st, the "Limit" increase to 6 Walleye per/person.

Also, if you go to me website, and click on the Walleye page, you will see a diagonal banner, "10% Special - Call NOW for Details!" A call to action.

It really picks up in June. Nice weather, nice time to go fising with friends and/or family, and really...a very nice time to Walleye fish on the Western Basin of Lake Erie.

I like the updated format to DiscoverOhio!
